Finding reasons to be cheerful is not the easiest thing to do right now, my parents have just left for the airport to return home to England after their surprise visit and quite frankly I’m sad and grumpy. I know it was my decision to emigrate in the first place and whining about it isn’t going to help but saying goodbye sucks, big time.
When I think about it (which is the point of these posts after all) I am truly grateful they came over to spend my 40th with me and having them here made it extra special and as it is thanksgiving this weekend I am going to count my blessings instead of feeling sorry for myself.
What I am thankful for:
I am thankful that my parents and my sister and her family have been able to visit me here in Canada
I am thankful that I have a lovely home that is big enough for my family to come and stay
I am thankful that I live in a lovely area with beautiful walks on my doorstep
I am thankful that my family and friends are safe, happy and healthy
I am thankful for my lovely friends in England who go out of their way to keep in touch, send me things, read and comment on my blog and send me messages, I am lucky to have them all.
I am thankful for my sons who are well behaved, work hard in school and never give me any trouble
I am thankful for my husband, who is my soul mate, he works hard to provide for us which means I can stay at home to be around for our sons.
And finally, I am thankful that it is a beautiful day today so I ‘m going out for a walk to enjoy the sunshine.
